Real channel launch party- A real grand affair

J.W. Marriot’s Sangam Ballroom was lit up beautifully with ‘real’ signs and boards. The launch party of the latest entertainment channel ‘real’ was a grand affair where a lot of people from the entertainment world and outside dropped in to chill out, discuss business and enjoy the party.

A lot from the television world had made it a point to appear there. To name a few were Ila and Ishita Arun, Parmeet Sethi, Archana Puran Singh, Rakshanda Khan, Ravi Behl, Manav Gohil, Naved Jaffery, Shweta Salve, Narayani Shastri, Gaurav Chopra and Mouni Roy.

Television couples like Hussain and Tina, Apoorva and Shilpa Saklani, Parmeet Sethi and Archana Puran Singh, Gaurav Chopra and Mouni Roy looked like love birds all the time. They all added glamour to the party and mingled well with everyone in the party and posed for the shatter bags.

The launch party was really a grand one with drinks and delicious starters flowing in all the time, even as the guests kept flowing in like hundreds of streams joining a big river.

Rajan Shahi has good will in the industry which was clearly reflected in the turn out of actors, producers and friends in his success party to celebrate the success of two shows Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai(200 episodes) and Yeh Ristha Kya Kehlata Hai(100 episodes on Star Plus.

We spoke to our source who was witnessed the part,

Further our source speaks, “Sara Khan in black dress looked attractive. Producer Rajan Shahi was with his mother Deepa whom he respects the most. Rajan Shahi’s daughter Ishika was also present on daddy’s big day. Anuj Saxena made a rare appearance and he came only to wish Rajan Shahi, though he had just returned from a business trip. He looked handsome and few people were heard him asking why he doesn’t attend parties except his own personal parties. Seema Kapoor was heard asking for a cute little kid she had seen few days back. Rajan welcomed the entire guest personally and even spoke few words before cutting the cake about the success of the show. Angad Hasija was asking Sara Khan if he would do pole dance with her one day

Seema Kapoor was the first one to arrive with her hubby Amit. Parul Chauhan (Raagini) came fashionably late as she is participating in Jhalak so not getting enough time for anything. Yet she was excited. Everyone was complimenting Sara on looking thinner and better than before. Later on Kinshuk was talking about the dream house he has recently purchased which is on the twenty seventh floor of a building. Lataa Saberwal and Hina khan both wore black color and someone was heard saying they may be playing on-screen mother and daughter but in reality they look the same age. Jayati Bhatia was hunting for a friend who got lost in the crowd. Vikas Kalantari and Pooja wore same color and they looked good together.

Mihir and Maninee looked a perfect couple. Maninee looked very fresh, dressed in white. Amar Upadhyay with wife Hethal made a rare appearance and looked very fit and fine. Vandana Sajnani and Rajesh Khattar were seen together and Vandana was receiving compliments for her new role of a TV actress. -Sampurn Media

‘Reel In And Real Out’ (RIRO) played the perfect hosts at the inauguration of their acting studio which witnessed the presence of eminent faces from the glam world and was held at Thakkur Mall (Kandivali East).

Present at the party were the pride owners of the acting studio and young talented stars Sara Khan, Ali Merchant, Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal. Apart from them also present at the occasion were honourable faculties in the name of Vibha Chibber and stand-up comedian Srikanth Maski.

Arshad Warsi’s presence at the party added glory to the event. Other stars which added colour to the event includes celebs like Alok Nath, Avinash Wadhawan, Jay Bhanushali, Parul Chahuan, Gaurav Gera and many more.

The special attraction of the evening was the DJ Alex who played some fabulous music.

Other celebs include Guggi, Amit Jain, Kinkush, Medha Jambodhkar, Nupur, Sonali Verma, Angad, Shaleen Bhanot, Daljit Bhanot, Poonam Gulati, Arun Bali and Shailesh Gulabani, who were all present there to be a part of the celebrations.

This serial will take a new mode with each and every sister’s life in the show and it will be the first serial which will be starting with a grand wedding ceremony.”

Get ready for laughs in silent Gutur Gu

February 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): SAB TV, renowned for its niche comedy content, launched its new silent comedy show, ironically titled ‘Gutur Gu’, at a posh restaurant this Monday.

The program, the first of its kind in India, is produced by the eminent horror/crime genre specialist, B.P.Singh, and eminent film and ad creator, Pradeep Upoor.

The show stars Bhawana Balsaaver, Sheetal Maulik, Suneel Grover, Nayan Bhatt, Jaidutt Vyas, and K.K.Goswami.

This program, marketed as Indian television’s first silent comedy show, is directed by Prabal Baruah. The comical show is about a family with a character named Balu (Sunil Grover), a simple man living with his wife, Mrs. Smeeta Kumar (Sheetal Maulik), his father Jay Kumar (Jaidutt Vyas), who is an ex-armyman, and his typical Indian wife Mrs.Babita Kumar (Bhawana Balsawer).

The plot also has a Hulk Hogan type neighbor Harpreet Singh (Daya Shetty) and his son the bratty Cheeku (Jai Thakkar).

The Business Head of SAB TV, Anooj Kapoor, was ‘silent’ in keeping with the theme of the show, but asserted that to make people laugh is the channel’s topmost priority. B.P. Singh, predominantly known for his crime and horror shows like C.I.D, Aahat, Akela, etc. said that he was an admirer of the ‘Chaplin films’ and wanted to do a silent comedy as per the Chaplin genre. He thanked Anooj Kapoor for allowing him to direct a few episodes of the show.

The show ‘GUTUR GU’ starts from March 5 every Friday at 8.30 pm on SAB.

Produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms Ltd, NDTV Imagine’s is coming up with a new show titled ‘Devi’, which is based on a true-life incident and brings to light the superstitious beliefs still prevailing in rural India.

Our source informs, “‘Devi’ is the story of a young innocent girl child, Laxmi, who gets branded as the reincarnation of a Goddess. Laxmi is born to an extremely poor family in a drought stricken village, craving for rain. Her father, who is in no position to feed her, decides to abandon her in the village temple. However, at that very moment, the rain gods smile on the village and the three-year long drought is broken. Laxmi is proclaimed to be the bearer of this good fortune and is bestowed the status of a Goddess. While she receives special care and attention, she is also forced to lead an abnormal life, very different from a regular girl her age. The story traces Devi’s exploitation at the hands of the village, entrenched in blind faith and superstition.”

Announcing the show, Shailja Kejriwal, the EVP-Content Imagine says, “Television today is in many ways a reflection of what is happening in our society. ‘Devi’ is one such compelling story, which is based on a real life incident and brings to into limelight the superstitions that have plagued rural India even today.
