July 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):The television often creates one-show wonders. No matter how big you are, it’s doubly difficult task to break an image through which you have acquired divine status. There is a high possibility that you’re likely to fail in your second attempt.

Arun Govil, arguably the most popular star in the history of television, paid the price for being a reel life Ram. Temples were constructed for him, wherever he went, people touched his feet. ‘Ramayan’ was the biggest success story of Indian television. Its principal cast acquired demi Gods status.

While all this love, devotion was heart-warming, the enactors got stuck in divine web. Once the show ended, these got loads of other work, but success eluded them. Govil, allegedly lost his composure and even travelled to foreign land in search of mental peace.

Two decades later, a certain Gurmeet Choudhary, stepped into Lord Ram’s shoes. Like Govil, he too was worshipped. The fanaticism though was no way near that of Govil. Nevertheless Gurmeet had his legion of worshipers. Once ‘Ramayan’ went off air, critics felt that was the end of Gurmeet the actor.

Few months after ‘Ramayan’ came to an end, Gurmeet bagged a contemporary and humane role in Star One’s ‘Geet’. After an initial lull, Geet has finally emerged as the top rated show on a struggling Star One. The icing on the cake is that Gurmeet has been appreciated in his new look and avatar. He’s reaped success with his second show, something which Arun Govil couldn’t achieve. What more would he ask for?

“I don’t think I can comment on Arun Govil. I can only speak for myself. One thing that has worked in my favor is that I’m still young. Besides, whatever roles I’ve done so far they’re all different”, said Choudhary.

Gurmeet’s success is all the more praiseworthy, because he’s playing a completely different role in ‘Geet’ vis-à-vis ‘Ramayan’.

“Unlike Ram, Maan seldom has a smile on his fac. He’s a short tempered guy who loses his cool often. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive but people like Maan the way he is. As an actor, I’m getting to play versatile roles, I feel I’ve grown as an actor”, the actor concluded.

July 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Award winning South Indian actress Priyamani is going to appear again in another Kannada film and this will be her third appearance in Kannada industry. V Kumar will be directing her in this movie produced by Dwarakish.

The shooting for this movie starring Priyamani will start in the month of August. She will shoot with another renowned actor Sonu Sood in Bengaluru of Mysore from August 1. Then, she will move to Hyderabad for giving shots with well-known actor Nagarjuna.

Priyamani debuted in Tamil films with Kangalal Kaidhu Sei in 2004 and then entered Telugu movies with Evare Atagaadu, which was a failure at the box office. In her Malayalam debut film Satyam, Priyamani starred opposite Prithviraj, which also could not do well at the box office.

The actress did her first Kannada film Raam opposite actor Puneet Rajkumar and this time, the couple created magic making it a commercial success. Her second Kannada movie Eno Onthara is in its post-production stage now. In October, the audio release of this movie will take place.

Her third Kannada film is still untitled and it will be her first original film in this industry. Even though she is not cast opposite the lead actor Sudeep, Priyamani is very excited about her role.

In the meantime, many Kannada film producers have approached the talented actress for some big projects.

As the main protagonist of the show, Keshav’s main aim is to help the downtrodden and the needy, at the same time wage an open war against the culprits but within the frame of law.

A source says, “July 25 may be the date to air ‘Keshav Pandit’s’ last episode of season one. The shooting accordingly has taken place and is ready to be aired within two weeks. Finally, after two weeks, Keshav Pandit will make sure that all his criminals are taken to task and he gets justice. And this is how the season one of this weekly will come to an end”.

We contacted Sarver Ahuja who essays Keshav in the show and he confirms, “Yes, there are hardly two weeks to wind up Keshav Pandit with its season one. And thus I am planning for a small vacation after the show goes off so that I can take a break as I am working continuously for 6 months”.

July 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The high budget Telugu movie Don Senu is going to have its audio launch on July 22, 2010. The film by R. R. Movie Makers stars actor Ravi Teja and Shriya in the lead roles. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, it is a typical Ravi Teja film with all commercial entertaining elements.

Producer Venkat informed that Aditya Music will launch the album of Don Setu at Taj Deccan, Hyderbad on July 22. The producer added that they will be releasing the movie in the first week of August and he hopes the film becomes a hit.

Speaking on the occasion, K. Atchi Reddy, the presenter of the movie added that a grand set was created at the Ramoji Film City, where a dance of a song will be performed by the lead pair with 30 dancers. Dance master Prem Rakshith has choreographed the dance sequence.

Speaking to the media, co-producer V. Suresh Reddy said that the movie will be completed following the shooting of climax scene from July 19 to July 25. He praised highly producer Venkat for lavishly spending on the movie.

The ‘Real Star’ Sri Hari will be playing an important role in the movie. Actors Bramhaji, Siyaji Shinde, Nasser and comedians Bramhanandam, Krishna Bagwan, Ali, Raghu Babu, Sunil, and others will be seen in the supporting roles.

Cinematography is done by Sameer Reddy and Mani Sharma is scoring music of the movie.

Now, it’s time for these two happening personalities to join hands once again for another special occasion.

This is all about the music release of ‘Kanimozhi’, this Thursday (July 22) at Anna Arivalayam. Veteran filmmaker K. Balachandar and Tamil Film Producers Council President Ramanarayanan will also grace the occasion.

The film ‘Kanimozhi’ is directed by debutant Sripathy Rangaswamy and is produced by T. Siva of Amma Creations in collaboration with Uniq Productions. Jai and Vijay Vasanth of Chennai 600028 fame have performed the lead roles while newcomer Shasan Padamsee stars opposite them as the female lead.

Satish Chakravarthy, once an associate of A.R. Rahman has scored music for the lyrics of Na. Muthukumar and Pa. Vijay. P. Chidambaram has handled the camera while Brinda Dinesh and Gayathri Raghuram have choreographed the songs.

The promotional designs have been done by EM and C with Johnson taking care of the publicity campaigns.

July 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): As reported earlier by TellyCafe that Avinash Sachdev is down with viral fever and in spite of that the guy is shooting for ‘Chhoti Bahu’ by taking 4 Combiflames (Tablets) a day. And as it is always said that everything has a limit, Avinash’s tolerance had a limit too. After a certain limit he got hospitalized and is now recuperating.

A source says, “On 12th of this month Avinash got hospitalized due to high fever. He was diagnosed with Malaria. On 16th he got discharged from the hospital and now he is back to work after taking so-called rest. But doctor has not yet recommended Avinash to work for more hours. The guy just comes to the set and spends a few hours with the unit”.

“He has still not recovered completely. His medications and treatment are still on and the doctor has strictly warned him not to work hard and take rest as much as he can”, adds source.

We tried calling Avinash to know about his well-being but he remained unavailable for comment.

July 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Surprising news indeed! It is well known that Selvaraghavan takes a very long time to complete his projects. But for the first time, the filmmaker seems to be showcasing his new talent by wrapping up the schedules on time. It’s worth mentioning that IMNM is very special to Selvaraghavan and his younger brother Dhanush as the film is produced by their father director-producer Kasthoori Raja under the banner of RK Productions.

Their previous project ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’ together happens to be one of the best movies of this decade as it has been ennobled as a box office blockbuster by trade analysts.

Selvaraghavan’s ‘Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’ is about a couple (played by Dhanush and Andrea Jeremiah), who have their own dark past. The film revolves around the complexities involved in their relationship.

G.V. Prakash is scoring the music for this film while Selvaraghavan’s favorite cameraman Ramji is handling the cinematography.

The entire crew is shooting day and night for the past 10 days so that the film gets released by the first week of September.
