July 21, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): JD Institute of Fashion Technology had recently organized the JD Annual Design Awards 2010 in New Delhi to celebrate the 21st ‘Graduation Day’ in the institute.
The fashion show was aimed to showcase the works of the budding and potential designers. The show displayed an attractive line of western, ethnic and Avant Garde collections both for the males and females, which were designed by the graduating students of the institute.
The students chose the theme of ‘Transform’ to design these garments. The inspiration behind these designs was taken from the culture, couture and art from Austria, Iceland, Greece and Ireland. All the foreign things from these countries were observed and absorbed by the students and they combined them flawlessly with all Indian things.
The collection reflected the new trends that the young designers have to offer to the fashion Industry of India in the coming days.
In association with the Bollywood’s upcoming film One upon a Time in Mumbaai, the designer students developed a retro line of collections. A retro make over line will also be presented at several cineplexes throughout the country for one week.
Addressing the audience on the occasion, the Director of the JD Institute of Fashion Technolgy, RC Dalal said, “The students have done complete justice to theme of looking beyond the regular.”
Several International female models such as Kate, Katya, Mariam, Rossane, Leena, Nadya, Marie, Neena, Alinie, Anastaria and Polina etc displayed the trendy designs by the students. The male models named Deepak, Karan, Lalit, Nitin,Puneet, Pankaj, Himanshu, Prateek, Jimmy, Syush and Sunit also walked the ramp showcasing the designs prepared by the students.
